Giant Project

1 min read
triptych charcoal dry-brush painting on birch wood panels
27 pieces of 18x24" (9 each image)

I will be doing speed-painting videos, as well as how-to videos during the creation of this
I'll be learning how to speed up video and post on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram (and DA if permitted)

I suspect this project will take some great time, and of COURSE W.I.P.s will be posted, individual completed panels will be posted, and a compilation that shows the puzzle pieces as they're created (a 3x3 grid with pieces put into place as I create them)

The goal is to have the whole set created and ready to hang in a museum by some time 2020

Several months ago, I met members of the barefoot lifestyle from around the world; we shared our experiences, advice, and knowledge from differing locations.
Watching and discussing the photos of people going about their daily lives, with the healthy decision of returning to the natural way of walking and running, piqued my creativity.

This year shall yield a collection of multicultural barefoot living, pointing out the diversity among a united mentality of a healthy body.

Chosen mediums: black and white charcoal, the feet (and their reflection, if any) will be in color pencil.

Each portrait will be titled the person's initials followed by their state or county and country.
Each photo reference will be provided by the person in the portrait, and/or will exist only after permission has been granted by the photographer for use and sale.

Individual portraits will be available for purchase and shipment, after the first live showing of the collection, location not yet determined.

A local print maker will be working with me, to make various prints available.

Thank you in advance, to all of you who are in support of this project, and in favor of promoting barefoot existence!

Well this is dumb.
Glasses have a few weak spots...this particular set of the Kenneth Cole line, its the springs/tension arms that go between the lense frame and the arms (that tuck over your ears).
First break was two years ago (they were two years old at the time), and the spring had snapped - not at all repairable...bought the last frame available (this model is no longer in production!!!!!) and supplemented the new arms to my current lense frame.
Second break, happened 3 weeks ago....the tension arm that hooks inside the spring, snapped about 1/3 up the arm...so I now have two paperclip stems acting as splints, wrapped up with electrical tape.

I can't do any art, cuz looking down = glasses dangling off my nose nearly 2" ...and don't ask me to do charcoal dust paintings at an upright position...that's just asking for a MESS.

SHINY NEW FRAMESZOMG! will be here in about 10 days....until then, I shall take my frustrations out in Mass Effect 3.

My apologies to those with commissions on the waiting list!

Ok all of you, buddies, family...life-long friends...HELP.
Muh Buggy's engine is a gimp at this point, its still going, but its VERY near its end, and either needs to be rebuilt, or replaced.

I'm offering myself up for commission, $100 per 12x18 charcoal portrait, of your favorite photo, or if you're nearby, and want something new, I can take a photo and work from that!

I'm looking at $2000-$2500 for just the engine, and I'll be having to add a few other things onto the buggy's heart at the same time, so closer to $3000

COMMISSION MEEEEEE!
email me at: emily@emilyreinhart.com for info etc
note: you must provide me with at least one month of time to work on a piece, if you're expected it by a certain time frame!
